Join us on Wednesday, July 19 from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at Latinx with Plants, for our monthly Wellness Wednesday with Facilitator, Olivia Armas. The session will begin with a short meditation offering loving-kindness for oneself and others. Next, we will create a drawing or print of a unique design inspired by Aztec speech glyphs, filling it with words, pictures, symbols, and colors of personal significance. Olivia will guide us to recognize and calm any inner-critic voices, to offer kindness to ourselves as mistakes arise, and to practice listening and sharing about each other’s practices. No previous experience is necessary.

This workshop is recommended for ages 15+ and is a collaboration with UCLA Arts & Healing, dedicated to creative expression by integrating the innate benefits of the arts with mental health practices for self-discovery, connection, and empowerment.

About the Facilitator:
Oliva Armas is an artist, educator, Chicanx community healing artist, and curator born and raised in East L.A. Her ancestral Wixarika/Mexica lineage guides her. She believes that art is medicine for the soul and that everyone can find their own unique experience with it. Olivia earned degrees in Art and Education from the University of California, Los Angeles, with certificates in Socio-Emotional Arts and Mindfulness Meditation.
