We would like to thank everyone who attended the opening of Phung Huynh’s Donut (W)hole Exhibition last weekend. Special thanks to Congresswoman Judy Chu (shown) for her support, the community of “donut kids”, including Andrew Chantha Hean aka Bandy Andy, for his live performance, and the mighty network of local donut shop owners who generously donated sweet treats for the reception!

Learn about what treasures and wonders can be found underground at our next Soil Time event, Soil Rocks! Nonliving Things in Soil, on Saturday, April 2 from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Register on Eventbrite to attend. Get inspired by the stories minerals, fossils, timeless geology, and the dynamic movement of water through the earth with artists and scientist. Create an earth print with soil to take home!  RSVP RESOURCE FAIR 4/9 

Participate in our upcoming Community Resource Fair on April 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m, in partnership with our Donut (W)hole exhibition artist, Phung Huynh, and the Los Angeles County Office of Immigrant Affairs. Register for our Community Resource Fair here.

The event will include free public resources to in housing, immigrant legal services, domestic violence prevention, youth programs, and much more; with gift totes designed by our youth committee (while supplies last)! This resource fair will take place during our family workshop.

 
 REGISTER FAMILY WORKSHOP 4/9 

Bring the whole family to our free Family Workshop on Saturday, April 9th at 1:00 p.m.! Artist Phung Huynh will lead families in an art workshop to design their own donut! She’ll explore different cultural foods that immigrant communities have contributed to the culture of Los Angeles, the role of donuts in California culture and how the flavors have evolved over time. This workshop is open to all ages and will coincide with our Community Resource Fair. Learn more and register here.

 
 REGISTER DIY SILKSCREEN WORKSHOP 4/16 

Our DIY Silkscreen Workshop with Dewey Tafoya takes place 3rd Saturdays of the month. Registration is open now for Saturday, April 16 from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. ($30)! Our one-day, do-it-yourself workshop teaches participants how to print using a stencil or photo process onto a screen. No previous experience is necessary to participate. Beginners welcome!

Learn to create your own posters, fine art, print tote bags or t-shirts! This workshop is recommended for ages 15+. Minors must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop. Learn more and register on Eventbrite here.

 
 REGISTER WELLNESS WEDNESDAY 4/20 

Do you need a space to slow down a chill? Meditation practitioner and healer, Neil Belen, will lead us in a relaxing sound bath on Wednesday, April 20 at 6:00 p.m. A sound bath is an auditive experience in which the facilitator uses crystal singing bowls, gongs, as well as other special instruments to guide the participants into a meditative state. You will leave feeling relaxed and rested. We’ll have yoga mats on site, but recommend bringing your own yoga mat or a towel to sit or lay on for the duration of the session. The even is free and open to all ages, but recommended for ages 15+. Register here.
