Self Help Graphics is proud to present our 51st Annual Día de los Muertos Celebration in Partnership with the Office of Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 3:00 PM-8:00 PM at LA County Civic Center Park, located at the East LA Civic Center at 4801 E 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90022 (on the same campus of the East LA County Library). This family-friendly event is FREE to the public and open to ALL AGES. Learn more here. Día de los Muertos Procession (Via Metro) • Meet-up 2:00 PM at Mariachi Plaza Organized by Mujeres de Maíz, this year's procession will be led on the Metro L Line, from Mariachi Plaza to East LA Civic Center, where we'll move collectively to arrive to our Celebration destination! Meet-up at Mariachi Plaza at 2:00 PM, where you’re are encouraged to dress festively and express yourself in your favorite Día de los Muertos fashion! The procession will feature local artists along the train route, sharing poetry, music and palabra! The procession is open to ALL AGES. Note: SHG will provide up to 150 Metro TAP cards for procession participants, while supplies last (please note that all riders must use TAP cards to ride the Metro). Shop Muertos Market & SHG Prints • Begins 3:00 PM The 51st Annual Día de los Muertos Celebration features 40+ local artists and artisans selling handmade goods and art, many of which is only available during this season! Stock up on special gifts in anticipation of the upcoming holiday season or treat yourself to that special t-shirt or artwork made wit amor. Self Help Graphics will also have select prints for sale, including this year's Commemorative Print by Amalia Mesa-Bains. *Note that SHG can also arrange for pick-up of pre-purchased prints - made online by October 21- on the day of the Celebration. (scheduled print pick-ups must be completed by 6:30 PM on Nov 2 at the SHG vendor booth.) Street Food Market • Begins 3:00 PM Come hungry! Self Help Graphics will proudly offer a variety of food made from the hands and hearts of our local community of street food vendors, in collaboration with In the Making and the East LA Eastmont Farmer's Market.
