“One of the most vital ways we can sustain ourselves is by building communities of resistance, places where we know we are not alone.” -bell hooks Dear community, In this moment, we acknowledge that it is a privilege to walk in public space or attend public events, and we honor that by showing up intentionally. Building space now for connection, for creation, for joy become acts of resistance against systems designed to unravel the fabric of our communities. To sustain us in these moment artist remind us that Otro Mundo es posible. It is in this spirit that we move forward, hosting the 2025 Print Summit as an act of courage continuing in the determination of the Chiano/a/x movement that led to the creation of Self Help Graphics & Art. Otro Mundo es posible. In solidarity, Self Help Graphics & Art

Marvella Muro’s New Role at the LA County Department of Arts and Culture
Self Help Graphics & Art has always been a place where people come to begin, grow, and thrive — both as artists and as staff. True to our spirit of growth, opportunity, and evolution, we are proud to share that Marvella Muro, our Director of Artistic, Curatorial, and Education Programs, is stepping into a new role at the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture. Over the past six years, Marvella was instrumental in creating programs and exhibitions that reflect the heart of SHG. In her new position, she will continue to support artists and advocate for the arts throughout our community. While we will greatly miss her presence at SHG, we are excited for this next chapter in her journey and look forward to finding new ways to stay connected. In the coming weeks, we will be thoughtfully planning this transition to ensure that our programs and partnerships continue to flourish without interruption. For any questions during this transition please reach out to our Interim Executive Director, Paulina Flores at pflores@selfhelpgraphics.com. Please join us in thanking Marvella for her dedication and wishing her all the best in this new endeavor!
